The annual BWA fall meeting took place on Sept 7, 2025.  We talked through Board elections, key dates, financials update, tournament feedback, membership, and rule changes.

Here are a couple of key highlights:

• Elected Jeff Varney (Kenston) as our new Vice President

• Re-elected DJ Vondruska (Lutheran West) as Secretary

• Re-elected John Burd (Austintown) as our Director of Tournaments

• Key dates:

  • Individual Team Joining deadline - Wednesday Oct 1 , 2025

  • First competition - Dec 5, 2025 (could start earlier if you'd like)

  • BWA Dual Tournament hosted by Kenston (contact Jeff Varney if interested)

  • Sectionals - Feb 1 or 8, 2026 (OAC Divisional states is on Feb 8)

  • League Championship – Feb 15, 2026 (Looking at Kent State M.A.C. center)

• No new rule changes this year

• 3 new Divisions of teams added this year (Kenston, Stow, & North Olmsted) bringing our total teams to 112
