November 11, 2020

The Buckeye Wrestling Association (BWA) is accepting member clubs for the 2020-21 wrestling season.  As part of the annual meeting on 11/5/20 we talked through moving forward with the season and the protocols we put in place for COVID:

  • Masks required for all spectators and coaches all of the time

  • Wrestlers must wear a mask when not wrestling or warming up

  • Facilities cleaned prior to first competition and in between sessions

  • Teams temp check required prior to each practice

  • Teams highly recommended to ask Covid questions prior to each practice and if they yes to any of them they are not permitted to practice

The BWA provides a structure for interclub competition and a league championship tournament.  The BWA is the premier youth wrestling league providing opportunities for new wrestlers to get experience and competition, and flexibility for experienced wrestlers to be able to get better competition.  Participating clubs and individuals must follow BWA league rules to qualify for the BWA League Championship to be held on February 28, 2021.

Members passed the following rule changes for the 2020-21 season:

  3. Change of sectional eligibility to be make 3 weigh-ins at or below your weight class and compete (no requirement to keep varsity records) - this year only
